With Project Hillside now back in full swing, my nesting instincts have been kicking in, I have been busy visualising what Baby Hunt’s nursery is going to look like over the past few months.

I have to confess I have been collecting baby items for a while now – I just can’t wait to get them into a finished room!

Furniture…

Our nursery furniture has been gifted by one of my favourite brands Mamas & Papas. Its from the Coastal Collection, which seems fairly fitting with us living by the coast! The Dover furniture collection is all about classic understated style.

Ideal for creating a full nursery in a small space, the 3 piece Dover Collection includes all your essential nursery furniture in one package; compact cot, dresser/changer and full-sized wardrobe.

The three pieces can be purchased individually or as a set and include a cot, dresser and changer plus wardrobe.

Mattress…

As for the mattress I have been kindly gifted a handmade cot mattress all the way from Devon, by a company called Naturalmat.

The Quilted Coco Mat is award winning and is made by using organic materials which are naturally breathable and self-ventilating to help baby regulate their body temperature for a comfortable night’s sleep for baby.

I think Baby Hunt is already becoming very spoilt!

Colours I love…

Now that we know Baby Hunt is a little boy, this really helps us to theme the room around him (Sam and I feel in love with Farrow and Balls ‘Sulking Room Pink’ but maybe we can get that in somewhere or in one of the other rooms of the new part of the house)!

Sam… (and I am sure he won’t mind me saying), is a bit of colour snob when it comes to paint, but luckily for me he’s usually right with his choices and I have learnt a lot from him!

We tend to go for neutrals and greys and pop in accent colours. Here is a little mood board of styles I am leaning towards.

Nursing Chair…

For me, this will be one of the key features of the nursery, I envisage it as a special place me and Baby Hunt will get to sit and bond.

I plan to breast feed and if all goes to plan, we will spend many hours together in this chair and as he grows up, it will be the perfect place for bedtime stories.

Mamas and Papas have assisted me again with this Hilston Nursing Chair in Sand.

There is also a foot stool to accompany it if required.

Finishing Touches and Accessories…

I have been gifted so many beautiful accessories from Baby Hunt from some amazing brands. It probably requires a separate post but here are a few of my favourite things!

I am hoping to film a time lapse of the creation of the nursery with the help of Middle Sea Media… so once the room is ready to go – stay posted!
