When we started Project Hillside, I wasn’t pregnant, however two weeks after the start date I found out I was. This was last November!
Now in June (one month before my due date) we are at roof stage.
I have been trying to explain to Sam what it feels like to have the nesting instinct – but I have no where to nest. I know that most of my house is going to be knocked through – creating quite a bit of mess – so I see no point trying to improve the existing part of the house when its all going to be changed.
I AM FRUSTRATED! The hormones probably aren’t helping with this.
Instead I have started to hord! I am even hording things I don’t even want, which is crazy, but apparently natural behaviour for a mummy to be.
What is nesting?
Nesting is considered to be an instinct to prepare for birth, but not all pregnant women experience the nesting instinct. It is common for women to get the urge to clean and organise during the spring, thus the old adage, “spring cleaning.”
A back up plan…
Today is the first day I have given in to the thought my house might not be done in time. So I have purchased loads of plastic boxes and I am going to try and gut the clutter and clean the house to the very best of my ability, making room for my little mans arrival. At the moment thats all I can do!
Will keep you posted!
